Go with the Yamaha. It will be much more reliable than the Polaris

question? How hard is it to jet a yfz450? Also any comments on the jet kit? Another thing what about an exhaust which is the most recommended?

personally i prefer Toomey exhaust, they send the jet kit needed along with detailed instructions on how to re-jet and re-tune the carb.

without this it can be a bear to re-jet if you haven't jetted a carb before.

oh geeze, tell the guy that he is dreaming!!

my yamaha blaster 200cc outruns my friends ltz400.

no the yfz450 will make the ltz400 look like a pedal car.

I actually wont have it til the end of this month. I had to lay away the remainder due to the fact I'm getting married in 2 weeks. So all my money went there. But after that I should have it in 2 1/2 weeks. The only downfall with me racing that guy is I have like 60 pounds on the guy. But if I tweak it a touch, pipe, jetting, better tires. That may make up the difference. Like I said the outlaw beat him at first. But in the top end he past me.

he must have a 440 big bore kti in that thing.  the ltz400 is fairly strong, but even my yamaha blaster smoked his ltz400.

Picked up my yfz450 3 days ago wow what power im really happy with the purchase. I have a quick question for the yamaha fans. I want to get my wife riding with me. But I was wondering the raptor 250 or 350. She has no idea how to use a clutch. She may not even like it. Is the 250 a big difference to the 350. I mean she will never ride fast so am i just better off with the 250? Also I hate that damn break in period i really want to open my new yfz450 up and it really wants to be! I just hate that break in period!!!

I have a 2000 yamaha kodiak 400 automatic >it was running fine ,always cranks on first try.I cut it off the motor seemed to want to run on ,like dieseling . When I tried to crank it back it hit but want catch up . It is getting gas and seams to be firing .I don't know if it is firing constant .It will hit as long as starter button is pushed . Where do I start ?

To wolf, I have a quick question about my 2008 yfz450. I was riding around and well i didn't notice it at first but the stock pipe was red hot. It was a night ride and it was red hot. Now I talked to the dealer I purchased it from and they told me that was normal being that its a high performance motor and all that compression coming out of the exhaust, causes it to burn up. Now that was the first time I ever noticed that. Just wanted to make sure that was normal. Is this true. I know that I have asked this next question but what is a good quiet exhaust to buy. Im not into loud because of the trails I'm on wont allow that. just want a performance pipe that isn't louder than the stock but adds to the performance of the quad. Please help for I'm an idiot when it comes to this stuff!
