i have a 06 2wd hawkeye. the engine cranks and will not start. the spark plug is dry like it is not getting fuel. fuel filter is clear and fuel flows to carburetor with inlet line removed. it will start on starting fluid. prior to all of this there was oil in air filter box. any help is appreciated.

barring a clogged carburetor you may have bad rings. but then the plug should be at least a little wet.
i'd yank the carb remove the bowl and make sure the jets are not clogged.

just a heads up,
the hawkeye models have a defective steering shaft, you might want to check to see if it has been re-welded the hawkeye models were all recalled because the steering shafts broke on them while riding.
