Any one of the new 450s from honda suzuki and yamaha are all extemely fast and they are awesome trails bikes. The honda is the best trail bike i feel because the power delivery is very awesome in the woods it has a ton of low end power you can go through all of the gears in a wheelie. the yamaha is too long for the woods, and the suzuki is too wide. the honda is also really stable.

01 400ex sixpackrack, custom bumper and skid plate, moose handlebars, scott grips, assorted stickers, dg nerf bars, HMF Sport series pipe, jet kit, UNI airfilter, Kenda Tires, ITP Rims, 450R front shocks, #51 C-class

hey dude.

I can tell you from experiance the Banshee which i also owned for 1 year was truely a one of a kind quad. there acceloration is unreal and they ae a great quad that can be ridden hard all day long . Unfortunatly i sold mine ! but missed it so went out looking to purchase another. I wanted to stay with Yamaha and thought alot about getting the banshee again since it was all around great. minus the all or nothing power for the trails which was a bit of a pain . there is no in between with those quads your either going super fast or slow its hard to idle through trails which is something i like. i came accross the Raptor 700r. . which is what i went with , and let me tell you man . if your thinking about getting a used 660 don't bother your waisting your money . the redesigned 700. is longer , wider , stronger , and much better designed with an elec fan to keep it cool along with the water cooling system, also its fuel injected. has outrageous bottom end , great mid, and unreal top. right off the showroom floor. as aposed to other quads such as the yz450 this thing will out last .. and depending on the rider out run it. there close . if you want a quad thats great in the dunes. on the race track or in the tight woods i suggest you go with the Raptor 700r you will not be dissapointed. and its much better in the trails then the banshee . if you go with the Special addition you can get the yzf suspension package . my advice to you is to go get yourself the new 700r .. great quad

whats up farmer,

thx for the info..  just what i was lookin for...  never had the chance to ride a raptor or any 4 stroke for that matter..i hear 2 stroke is better.   which bike is easier to keep up on, maintence wise, banshee or raptor, and in your opinion, with both of them w/ pipes etc.. which is faster?

    thanks again

The Banshee is still a favorite of the dune crowd and some racers, and if you throw enough money at it faster than anything. But if you're looking for hassle free riding, I'd got with farmer's recommendation of the Raptor 700R. Sure you'll have to deal with valves and the EFI ECU makes hop-ups a bit of an investment (EFI management modules are about $200 plus the pipe) but it only has one cylinder. The Banshee is a twin so that's 2 top ends and 2 carbs to deal with along with 2 pipes to buy. The EFI system is pretty flawless and trouble free for us so far.

Things to consider.

If you get the racing bug, the Raptor is decent but a 450 is the best choice here. But expect to shell out anoth $5-10K to make one truly race ready.

a banshee is like an american classic. it has a little bit more maintance, but included is alot more bragging rights. 2 stroke twin, liquid cooled, its what the 4 stroke quads today are modeled after, it was a revolutionary quad for the whole industry
