I have a 2007 Honda TRX400FA Rancher that my daughter flipped. Thank God she escaped injury, but she did damage the front end of the 4 wheeler bad enough that I have to replace the steering shaft.

Can anybody give me advice on removing the steering shaft without having to drop out the front diff.? The space between the diff and shaft are limited and it is impossible to get a socket or box end wrench on the nut. However I can get an open end wrench on but not much room to pull on and I'm afraid of rounding off the nut.

Any advice would be great so I can get this replaced the plastic back on and get this back on the trails.

Brian you should'nt need to remove the front diff. just renove the 3 mount bolts slide the diff foreward and this should give you enough room to remove the steering shaft nut.

Thanks for the info edbla. I pulled the diff forward and was able to get a wrench on the nut and replaced the steering shaft. It's been back on the trails since Thursday evening.

Again thanks,
