My Taotao 110 is overcharging the battery. It worked good for 1 year. I replaced battery and checked voltage at battery while reving engine a bit, It quickly jumps to 14 volts and climbs 1/10 volt per second. It was up to 16 volts, it slowly comes down at idle and goes up with more throtle. I replaced the voltage regulator but it still has the same problem. Can anyone help me with this issue?

Have you tried the choke lever it is located in the left side and the lever must be in the run or chocke position to start once it starts you bring the lever down (the lever is gold in color) otherwise the bike wil never turn over.

atvguys(or anyone else) could u tell me how to fix my sons 125tao? i can get it to idle and even slowly take off, but if he jumps on the gas it dies. been back to the dealer but no luck. thought they fixed it but its doing the same thing. anyone interested in a 3 week old tao?i've always worked on my own bikes(cause i don't have the $ to pay someone)but this one has me crazy!tried adjusting carb everyway i know. is there standard start settings for idle and air mixture like a turn and a quarter or something? thanks for any help before i take a match to this damn thing.

have you tried rising the carburator needle, unscrew the top of the carb, remove thottle cable, remove needle, on the needle their's a c clip remove it and reinstall on the next lower groove, this will rise the needle allowing more fuel mixture, some chinese carbs have no groves in the needle so just take a thin washer (.015-.020 thickness) and slid it onto the needle and then reinstall. let me know if this works or not and we;re go from there. luvmysxs@yahoo.com

open the bleeder screw on the carb float bowl and see if any fuel comes out the hose i dont think your getting fuel sometimes and i know this is technical, but the needle valve is stuck, it doesnt drop when the float goes down,no fuel 1.tap the carb 2.put some carb cleaner in carb by removing fuel line and drain out carb bottom
i know lame fixes but works alot
3 remove carb take bowl off and adhust float and make sure valve moves easily,

I have a Tao Tao 150-d utility model. I recently took a short ride , parked the bike and when I came back it was leaking gas out of the intake sleeve. Knowing a little about floats and such , I checked the crankcase for fuel and sure enough it was full! Has anyone had float problems with these? I called one dealer and he said it was just "dirty". I have had the bike for two months so I wonder about this. He said maybe an inline filter would help. I just wonder if the float did'nt just get bent or out of line somehow because of how light they're made. Anyone knowing a common problem please reply , deer seasons close ! Thanks.
