Hey everyone, I just got myself a 2006 YFZ450. My dad just got a 2006 TRX450. He is talkin %@*^ about how he thinks that he can beat my yamaha. I believe that the Yamy is faster but I want to know what you guys think. We will be racing at the Oregon coast (Florence dunes) doing drags, and Hill climb drags. Open to any opinions!

We haven't gone yet, wet just did intake kits on both bikes and aftermarket exhausts. My yamaha has a jd jet kit in it, I'm running a 180 main, 45 pilot, 3rd position on needle, k&N filter, and a Leo Vince X3.
My dad has the same set up only he has the HRC kit and a Big Gun evo R exhaust.

both machines are great machines.
i have ridden the 450r and the yzf450

but in my opinion the yamaha yzf 450 is hands down a faster machine on top end.

You're exactly right. We raced in a field and I beat my dad at the end every time with my YFZ. He starts out faster though. That TRX with the HRC kit is a monster. I'll bet it will climb well.

Well, we finaly went to florence dunes and we raced on the flats. That damn Trx not only beat my yfz off the start, but at fifth gear pinned, The trx pulled away slowly. I'm actually quite supprised! There was nothing I could do but watch him.
