anyone have advice on reducing the vibration on my chinese 110c atv.  I bought it new for $300 so I understand that it won't be perfect but the vibration is worse at ~15 mph.  Its the smallest one they make - for my daughter to learn on but for now I am on it too.  Our total weight is probably close to 200 pounds if that matters.

about the only thing you can do is go to the parts store and buy some of the stick on (adhesive backed) wheel weights.

try to balance the wheels a little

also if the shocks aren't already set to the softest setting then adjust them to their softest setting

I have a tao tao 110 H4 that has 1 gear forward and 1 rev. It wouldnt climb a hill or take off good with a 100lb rider....then it got hot and burned the clutch after a few days.

The distributor said they have a japanese clutch that is way better but he will not warranty it....

The gearing is wrong from the company and they should warranty this because the engines will all have problems. He told me it is for flat ground and high speed....lol not for off road climbing.

I want to just fix it but I think the engine may have some problems because it got hot.

well is the engine running differently now?
if not then changing the clutches may be all you have to do.

if it still runs hot then you have more porblems.

it's a chinese atv so it's not really made for rough riding. they just make them to pull more like a go kart than an atv.
you could research and maybe find a larger rear sprocket. or a smaller front sprocket.
that would give you more pulling power.

Hey everyone.  I bought my son a TAO TAO 110 around Sepetember of last year and have had very little problems with it.  One of the things that I have noticed about it is that it does not like cold weather.  Living in Arizona you'd think it wouldn't be an issue, but I live in the snow areas, and sometimes it does not like to start.  What I've come to find out is that when loading it on the trailer in the morning it absolutely will not start.  I've put a new battery in it and charge it up the night before every ride.  However, after we get out to our riding spot and it has warmed up the thing fires up and runs like a champ.  I was just wondering if anyone else was having an issue like this and if there are any fixes for it.

I was told by a local shop to spary some carb and choke cleaner in the carb. it'll try and  start but won't stay running any suggestions? Thanks

the number one cause of no starting with these chinese atv's that have ignation is valve adjustment, i bet if you adjust the valves it will fire right up. set both intake and exhaust valves at .004

The valve keepers on these are bad about breaking.

I just bought my first ATV ever..  The taotao 250cc watercooled.. looks like a praying mantis.. it's cool.  So Far all is well.  The only thing that is been bugging me is the damn chain keeps popping off.  I have tightened it and more.. but still pop's off.  Seems to pop off when going up an aggresive hill or trying to slide the rear end around.. anyone know a good fix for this.. and also does anyone online sell parts for these.. any upgrades?

Thanks!

What brabd do you sell as I am interested in an ATV for meself.  I would like a200-350cc automatic unit to ride on trails in upstate NY/PA.  Shaft drive would be a bonus.  Looking into Right way ATV in TX...seem to have a good track record and reasonable prices.  Can you help me?  Looking to purchase in July08.

you would be better off buying a used yamaha or honda than buying a chinese atv.

the used yamaha's and honda's will last alot longer than a new chinese atv of any kind.

not to mention it's difficult to find parts for the chinese atv's and there is no service manual for the chinese atv's.

with the chinese atv's it's not a matter of "if" they will fall apart, but "when", which is normally not long after you buy it.

I hate doing this, but I must jump in on this subject as I really feel that I should shed a little light and put out a warning to anyone in the ATV market (as a very informed Editor who looks out for the consumer & our readers). I'm not paid by any manufacturer to say what I'm posting here. I know it's too late for many of you, but for the rest -  PLEASE be careful buying these off-brand ATV's. They will more than likely cause you more trouble than if you were to buy a brand name. Sometimes you can come out on top, but I would bet that is even rare. The differences are important (I know most are looking at price, but buying quality products can save you money in the long run) or at least come out even with much less hassle. Off-brand ATV companies are cutting huge corners on these machines. Your likely to be left with one HUGE HASSLE if you buy one of these. I'm frustrated with these things as I feel they are giving ATV's and ATV enthusiast a bad name. New buyers buy, then get frustrated, and leave the sport forever.

Look at these brands as I know they make quality products, back up warranties and have parts readily available when you need them.
Honda
Suzuki
Polaris
Yamaha
Can-Am
Kawasaki
Kymco

Consider These Points:
• Off-brand ATV's purchased in a parking lot - Hmmm, where will you find parts, repair manuals (It will break, the all do). You know you can find parts for Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha and the others at a local dealer. And they will be around 2 years from now.

• Safety-who knows how they were assembled and designed. All of the above companies spend countless amounts of dollars in safety and design quality. I would not put my young son on a unproven and possibly unsafe ATV. I know for a fact that the above brands think of things such as pull chords for parents to pull when children get in trouble, brakes that actually work, heel guards that protect kids feet and on and on and on.

• Many of the Off-brand quads look great, but anyone can polish off the outside and copy another manufacturer. But these offbrand guys don't understand safety, handling, quality and even how to make a decent motor. Why do you think they can sell them for so cheap.

Ok, that's my 2 cents. Believe me or don't believe me. Do the research and you can prove whether it's worth the purchase or not. I just want you guys to be informed.

OK Off-brand supporters, please attack me now.

you are right, the reason the chinese atv's are so dirt cheap is because they are designed very cheaply.

and honestly i think polaris in some ways can be put in the same category.
the predator 50cc and 90cc are made in Taiwan.
and the defects are almost endless on polaris.
but you guys know how i feel about polaris.
but in my own defense i see polaris on a regular basis and for the same reasons.

but yeah i would suggest anyone steer clear of the chinese atv's.

Does anyone have a manual for the TAOTAO 110H or 110L models?  I have both models for my kids but would love to have a manual...lost mine to the washing machine after our first weekend ;-)
