Hi, I want to replace my universal joints on my 2 rear drive shafts, but I am having trouble getting the shafts off the transmission. I lossened the bolt but it wont come out, it just turns. Can someone maybe shine some light on this for me? Thanks.  

the two rear drive shafts share the same shaft, when I had this problem I just put a wrench on the other side and held that bolt and it came apart  

I have a 2000 Sportsman 500 and the two rear drive shafts fasten to the transmission with a small snap ring inside a grove.  When you take it out it will slide out and then the small ball bearings will all fall out.
