Trying to locate a service manual for this engine, but not been able to locate. I am trying to find how to set timing marks & how to gain access to do this. I can see the marks on the cam, but not on the crank. Last shop messed it up & I am trying to fix for a lady. Brake switch was bad & they took engine apart & covered everything in silicone & threw it back together & said ignition was bad & not cost effective. It not the ignition system, but the brake switch, but they took off the head for some reason & did not time it back correctly. Engine 152FMH s/n# 06112409

How do you take the head off? I'm fairly new to rebuilding small engines and my son's 110cc quad blew a head gasket. I have the four head screws out, the intake and exhaust off, but it still won't come off!! Is there a timing chain linking the head to the cases?

I'm also having trouble with a 152FMH I found this web page that has a exploded view I'm finding it useful but mine is slightly different.

As far as I can tell the timing is regulated by a pickup located next to the flywheel that sends a signal to a CDI box then triggers the coil to fire the spark plug.
I belive my problem is the stator coils but I'm not sure how to test it. It appears to have some physical damage but, I'm not sure it is enough to keep it from working.
