I just purchased this unit. It has an odd sound like a belt friction rubbing, since I am used to a 86 fourtrax, can you tell me if this sound is normal? Also, can anyone tell me if the silver color has any signifigance? The silver does look nice but the 08's do not come in that color. How do other owners like this bike? Thank you.    

I have an 06 and the silver is a special edition, the belt is quite loud, which I'm told is normal, and I love mine although it has a slight knock which is being looked at by the dealer.  

Thanks, when the dealer finds out what the knock may be, please let us know. There is another rider that has a knock in the front cylinder. The only odd sound other than the belt in mine is a apparent misfire which could be a bad plug or old fuel. I bought this bike with 240 miles on it. I was told it has sat for about 1 yr with 1/4 tank of gas. I filled it with a premium fuel and added gas treatment recommended by a local bike shop. I am about to put new plugs in it this am., then go for a long ride. This bike is the most comfortable unit I have ridden, fits me well. Getting back to the special edition silver, what is the difference in the SE and the non? Or is it just the color, as some manufacturers do, they throw out a unit with a slight difference to see how the market place responds, in this case, is it the color? Thanks,
