For all you Polaris lovers, we recently tested the Polaris Sportsman XP 550 and 850 and it was very impressive. I think you guys will be very impressed with their progression.

I am only talking of halfton pickups, and technically Fords claim is correct. But, many articles that state the numbers also point out that combined, Chevy/GMC halfton trucks, out-sell Ford Motor Co. half ton trucks. I just don't like political spin when talking real numbers--although all the manufacturers are guilty of it to include GM.

Ford's Lincoln pickup truck line has not been very successful, so I don't believe combining the numbers would be helpful.

The merger between GM and Chrysler is still speculative. If they do merge, who knows what might happen with the product lines.

I know many people who own Polaris ATVs, and they have been very happy with them--except those kids I mentioned. When I researched my first purchase (in 2004), it came to the the Polaris 330, and the Yamaha Bruin 350 4x4. I chose the Yamaha because it was nearly 100 pounds lighter than the Polaris 330. My buddy's 2008 Sportsman 500HO is 96 pounds heavier than my 2008 Grizzley 700.

Some would argue that on a utility machine, heavier is better, but I am not one of those. I like to have fun when I'm not working the machine.

Gee, all this Polaris bashing. I really don't care what happened in '0?. I bought a 2008 500 Sportsman, and am extremely happy with the ride and power. I bought the Polaris because three of my neighbors have Polaris ATV from year models up to 2006. And they do not have any problems with any of them.

As for warranty problems, the dealer that fails to back up their unit will not have to worry about being in business in 6 months. I have a lot of experience in putting people out of business that fail to back warranty problems. I never fail. So bring it on, if this is such a bad machine I'll let you know. Somehow I think if you look at any line of machines you'll find a couple of lemons. I don't think the Sportsman 500 is one of those.

I am new to blogging, but am also mad about our grandsons polaris 50. He has had it for 4 years and has not been able to ride it for the last 2 except for brief periods. It is flooded all the time,my husband has it now and has taken the carb off and did all the normal things but it will not dry out and there is no plug drain to get all the liquid out. We would like to get it fixed for him.My husband is a mechanic and has ridden everything posssible and has worked on his bikes without a problem. Can you help?????

Not to stir the pot, but my brother bought an 05 Predator 500,& loves it(when its running), but hates it the other 80% of the time. I own an 01 Raptor 660 and have had my share of issues too, but I have ridden (ridden hard too) much more than repaired. My brother(after dealing with wiring problems, carburator problems, replaced complete harness, etc, carb, stator, and is still having charging issues) says he is through with the money pit, and is selling it to buy a Honda or Suzuki. His wife has a 330 Trailboss, and so far it has been a good one. Everyone loves what they love. Statistics and facts can't be denied. Raptors are bad for transmission issues, but mine has been fine. Each has their own opinion, but sometimes the facts can create opinions. Ask your local repair shops before buying any make of atv, and find out the issues they see. Make an informed decision before you buy any make of anything. By the way, I have 2 Chevys and 2 Nissans, and would not drive a Ford, since that matters on an atv  forum. >(

Just bought a 2002 700 Sportsman and have been happy with it so far, I've put 200 miles of trail and mud riding and no major issues. My dad just traded his Suzuki in for an Outlander XT Max and had to put in a new ignition within 3 rides. There are some things about the Polaris I dislike, and some things I think are great.

Ya know wolf man, you sound like a bean counter who knows alot about reading stats, but knows F#@$% al about real life machines and what makes them tick. Ya you say you are a dealer, what, did your grandpa buy it for you.
get a life. Quite currious as to what you drive, probably a honda 3x4. I recently bought a scrambler 500, and love it, floats over the deep holes up in the muskeg
and when I need it ,I have real 4x4. You sound like you read tooooo much and don't ride enough. Put your ASS in the seat and shut up.

Ok everyone here's what i think, like it really matters but here goes. I bought my 02 polaris trailboss 325 very used it had a very hard life before me and tobe honest it still does. Its not very fast but will climb over pretty much anything I put in front of it. Iam at windrock tn everyother weekend on it and it has never let me down. It's all in what you like to ride I've have seen every make and model pulled off the trails there so all bikes will brake down.My rule is if I ride for a day, the next day I put the wrench time in so it wont brake down.
