The battery was dead and so I was charging the battery. I accidently touched the positive battery terminal to the frame and caused a LARGE spark and blew the 30 AMP fuse. I replaced the fuse and charged the battery. Now with the newly charged battery and new fuse I turn on the ignition. When I turn the ignition the 30 AMP fuse blows. I have replaced the fuse and turned the ignition only to have the fuse blow again. Any ideas? Thank you very much in advance. David

well check to make sure the wire hasn't melted elsewhere, this would cause a dead short.
causing it to blow the fuse.
something has to be shorting out. check all of your wiring for melting or making contact with other wires or the frame.

Besides melted wiring, is there something else. Could there be another electronic component that is broken?

I disconnected the winch power from the battery and now it works. So the problem must reside in the wiring to the winch or another electrical component. Question: Is there another electrical component that could be causing the fuse to blow? David
