honestly??
Just read my previous posts about polaris.
most likely anyone selling you their polaris has had this polaris long enough for it to cost them a small fortune in repairs ( which normally isn't very long) and is trying to get rid of it to buy a japanese atv.
and the magnums do have recalls due to defects.

Thanks for your heads up.
What would you suggest in the same price range?

find a good used yamaha banshee, not only will it last you a good long while but it will absolutely smoke that polaris magnum.
also the honda 400ex is good. with honda as long as you change the oil and filter you can usually give them to your grandchildren. and the honda 450r is a stout machine.
the suzuki Ltz400 is good too.
seriously the polaris will definately hurt your wallet on repairs.
The co-founder of polaris went on the record as saying "if we made 400 machines we got 500 back"
and year after year they have been consistant with recalls.
as well as paying out over 3 million in settlements for their atv's that fell apart while riding and seriously injured the rider.
