I got the engine back together and running on my 110 fushion atv but have 5 wires coming out of the engine on the left side that are supposed to go to the cdi but I can't seem to find the thing.I need to know where this is located at and is it really necessary to be connected? The engine runs very well but will not start with the electric starter and hase to be pushed to start. Also what does cdi stand for?

the cdi is a small black box.  approxiamtely 2 inches by 2 1/4 inches with a pig tail plugged into it.

some of your wiring should run from the wires coming out of the engine (the stator)
and the coil and the cdi.

i am sincerely amazed that you have it running without these wires plugged in.

it shouldn't be possible for it to run without the stator plugged up.

the engine runs very well with the wires unpluged but won't start with the starter button on the handlebars and I don't think the battery is charging. Will look again for  the cdi box when I get home from work.

the cdi and stator are already plugged in or else it wounldn't run, period, the cdi is your ignition box.  the stator controls the engine timing, produces the electrical current to run and charge the battery, the exrta wires i'm guessing without see them is probably for gear indicator lights. these chinese atv's use univeral wiring harness

i forgot to answer your starting problem, you know the rear break lever needs to press in when starting the quad, this is a safty feature.  if that isn' your problem then look at the two wires that go to the rear brake lever housing and make sure they are both plugged in. as far as the battery charging, do you know the battery in good condition? most chinese batteries are junk from the begining unless they're plugged into a battery tender, this also might be your starting problem and why you need to push start it, bad or dead battery, run the atv a couple of hours if it still runs then you know the stator working and charging, if it dies then you know it not charging,

wolf1 I got the wiring diagram.thank you.bill2099 there are two sets of wires running from the engine and one set does go to the cdi now all i have to do is find out where the other wires go.When my son and I put the plastic  fenders and front cowl on we left a piece off that goes over the gas tank and I thinking thats where the other set of wires go.I'll have to get that from work monday as thats where we put piston and rings in the engine.thank you all for the information. It seems like if atv were street legal for like trips to the store we could save lots of gas.
