I have a Banshee and i just jet it to 330. In the low RPM range it's very sluggish, you have to keep the RPM's up real high in order for it to respond well, but once it's at high RPM's it runs great, it's real fast with alot of power. How can i get the low end to respond better? should i go down on the jet size? I have never changed the pilot jet and i have adjusted the a/f mixture but it still runs the same. It has Toomey pipes and a K&N filter. Any help would be appreciated.

it sounds like it is getting too much fuel, do you still have the airbox cover on it?

remove it and see if it gets better.

if not then which groove do you have the needle on?

try it on the top groove or second to top if it's not there already.

Yes, I took the airbox cover off and it did improve a little, but still real sluggish.
I've never changed the needle position, I'm not sure what the stock setting is but I'll take a look.
Would it help to move up to carbon fiber reeds? or does it even make a difference?

racing reeds give better throttle response and can make a difference as far as acceleration. They will not fix a jetting problem. Banshees have dual carbs that need to synchronized so both carbs are running exactly the same. I have always had my dealer do this since it requires special tools. Also if you have one carb running lean you can seize the motor. Not cool

racing reeds do give more throttle response but in truth you'll have more issues with tuning the carb.

your problem is that it is getting too much fuel.
if you change to carbon reeds you'll get even more fuel into the mix because they open faster and breathe better.

try the needle first and then try adjusting the fuel air mixture screw if needed.

i think you'll find the needle setting around the middle groove.
if you put it at the top it will go deeper into the jet and allow you to regulate the fuel intake better with the fuel/air mixture screw.

you need to work at getting less fuel into the carb.

until you fix that problem any addition of modification will be useless.
