hello i am relisting this topic as no one has answered yet as i said before i have a 2002 400 ex after i ride it for 20 minutes or so the clutch begiens to slip i changed the oil and went with honda gn4 i am just wondering if the clutch plates and springs will fix it or if it is somthing else also does anyone know i have put plates and springs in a warrior is it as simple on the ex as it was on the warrior..
if you dont wreck it you aint riding it!!

Sorry sometimes they get covered up by other posts and i miss them.
have you tried adjusting the clutch? there is a rod that runs through the middle of the clutch basket with a nut on it, and a phillips drive in the end of it. turning it to the left will allow you to tighten the pressure plate screws a little more making the clutch engage better.
it's a 2002 so it may well be time to put a new clutch in it.

yes it's a fairly simple job if you have changed an atv clutch before.
