Starter would not engage the engine long enough to kick it over in the cold weather.  Had the starter rebuilt, and the problem remains.
It just makes a "winny" noise...mixed with what sounds like gear trying to catch.
Have tried starting with battery under charge/start cycle on a charger...left to trickle charge, but this did not do anything.  

most of the honda starters have a small secondary gear check it i'd bet money it's missing it's teeth.
