i don't recall where it is on the timing gear. but the fusion 110cc should have only three bolts in the cam gear, you should be able to install the gear and try turning it to a new hole each time until you find the right one and get it in time. it wont run out of time if the timing is very far out. and will only start if it is at least one tooth advanced or retarded in timing, or dead on. they are fairly easy.
once you have it running if you need to advance or retard it a tooth or two you can do so fairly easily.

The gear will only bolt to the cam one way and if the valves are in the closed position and the timing mark on the flywheel is lined up with the mark thats under the plug in the case I should be close right? Will have to wait until next week to reassemble as the people I ordered parts from sent one oil ring and only one compression ring. What is a good way to hone the cylinder as my engine hone is way to big and my wheel cylinder hone is to small?

yes with the valves closed and the piston all the way up, you should be at top dead center.
you can purchase a hone at your local parts store. i have seen people hone them by hand with 100 grit sandpaper in angled strokes and do so successfully but there's alot of work making sure you hone it well all the way around.

Thanks for the information. As soon as I get the rest of the parts I'll be able to put the engine back together. One last question do you happen to know what the valves are adjusted to?
