I have a 2000 Sportsman 500.  The front wheels are binding up when starting to move the quad.  It started out to be just when going forward and now is doing it when backing up.  It is mostly the left front and doesn't quite lock up but will slide the wheel if on gravel.  Any suggestions on what the problem might be.

I too have a 2000 Sportsman 500 and it's doing the exact same thing.  Did you ever solve this?  

I have a 1997 Xplorer 4x4. It is a chain-driven utility quad. I have a binding problem too. The four wheel drive will work fine. Then, there are times when I go to ride and the front wheels will pull to the right, HARD! I have to de-activate the FWD and run it in REV to try and free it up. It will get out of it and act OK in 2wd, then.
I've lubed up all the zerks in the axle areas. I thought it was dry, but not sure. There you go. Anybody else got this with their FWD systems???
