Hey Everyone. I was plowing my driveway one evening, my ATV started up with the electronic start perfectly. Everything worked as usual (I even believe the speedo light was on) I was using the all wheel drive and that was also working. Sometime during the job i noticed the AWD went out..and then I tried my lights and nothing seemed to be working. I also noticed that the speedo light was off too. When i shut the ATV off and tired to turn it back on, the electrical start did not work (the pull cord did however). None of my 'dash' lights were working either (Neutral, reverse etc). I know that there is a switch or relay for the electrical unit. My dad was working with it but couldnt figure out the problem. Does anyone have any suggestions? any ways to test to figure out what could be wrong? any simular problems? any help or tips would be great, thanks a lot

fuses or relays, the relays should be resettable. go through and reset them all, and check all of the fuses.
this is very fsmiliar though seems i have either answered another question on here about this or have worked on one in my shop with the same problem.

also check your battery. Polaris atvs must have 12 volts to operate. if you are under 12 volts nothing works but you can still pull start it. i would start there.

I have had the same type of issue with my 2003 500HO. The problem seems to the be consumption of power by the winch, lights, handle bar warmers, AWD system just seems to be too much for the battery. What I have done is put a new battery and for the winter, I have put a car battery in my rear cargo box link with a cut out set of booster cable to replace the battery. This seems to work fine. A good idea is to have a trikle charger on your battery when not in use.

I too have had this happen.I keep hearing that Polaris machines need a full battery to run itself...add in that constant up and down of the winch well plowing kills them dead...What I did was repalced my battery in my 2001 500 HO. and I used a Marine battery to operate my winch... Good Luck
