the chinese atv's are not honda at all.

they only based loosely on the older honda 4 cycle design but they are not even close to the quality of a honda.

they are very poorly constructed, and are dangerous to ride unless you are riding in a front yard that is completely flat. and still there are concerns to that situation.
they aren't worth the low price they charge for them.

Yea I’m with ya. I realize their not a Honda. I was make reference to WildcatTN comment on page 2. My daughters are 5 and 6 yrs old. They have been riding snowmachines since they were 3 yrs. I’m looking for an affordable way to introduce them to the sport. I would never dream of taking them anywhere but a vacant flat field with know one around. I restrict the motor to a steady craw, and follow on my wolverine with the ignition shutdown remote, and a knot in my stomach. My expectations are to get one Alaska summer out of them (3-4 months) if they take to the sport Ill slap them on one of the big 4's next year. They also ride with helmet, goggles, gloves, chest protector, and boots every time. Its funny I started on a 70cc atc at 8 yrs and never owned a helmet until I was 18. Wolf I’ve enjoyed reading your comment and value your opinion. You do a good job in here. Thanks

I agree they are not Hondas. They should be held responsible for defects that could cause serious injury or death to someone. It is a govermental reject if a weld or a pipe break on a Honda. My dealer has been really good to us helping fix everything that was wrong. How can a company that big stay in business if they no good quality.

carefully they will do in that setting. but please know that even in that setting you will still end up having to do repairs.

i started my sons on chinese 110cc atv's. to get them started, now they ride yamaha blasters.

even though they rode the 110's on flat ground and cautiously the atv's still broke down constantly after the first 3 months of riding.

on both machines the rear motor mounting bracket broke free from the frame at the weld.

the chains would break, and the i had to locktite the carb slider cap on as they both rattled off and went suddenly to full throttle without warning.
I had to go throught he machines and re-torque every bolt after i got them home as the dealer didn't care if they were properly assembled.

just be careful.

and thanks i actually enjoy helping out here.

if you haven't already check out the atv rider magazine.  it really is worth the money!

Mr Editor
I have been in the chinese atv bz for the last 5 years. clearly there have been many improvements as the Chinese goal is not to sell junk.
Consumers need to stop buying off Ebay and dropshippers that have never seen what they sell.
I have sold many hundreds of Tao Tao and others.
Consumer assembly is the number one problem,
change the oil (or whatever it is in there) before you start it
get a NGK spark plug (110cc/C7HSA-250cc/D9ea
use a mid range gas.
charge your battery for 6-8 hours and my failure rate has been very low-walmart will give you a 1 yr warranty with their battery fir 25$
Tighten all nuts and bolt-every single one-the safty check should take as long as the assembly and buy some lock tight.
check  all cotter pins in the wheels and front end and check them before you ride.
No doubt there is some junk out there-I have seen 110 atvs for  under 200$(container loads with defects-its called seconds) and those get sold at auctions and many droposhipers.
The consumer is going to learn on one vehicle while the dealer has seen hundreds.Buy from one!
For whom are these made for?
NOT FOR PEOPLE THAT WANT TO HILL CLIMB. HOLE SHOT AND JUMP.
Its just common sense you dont buy a mini truck to pull a 3 axel trailer, and your KIA isnt going to do
300mph at the strip.
My Jeep breaks my Jetski breaks and my dune buggy breaks-its use AND abuse.
KEEP THE ADULTS OFF THE 110 AUTOMATICS THEY ARE FOR KIDS EVEN IF YOU THINK YOU FIT.
I have hundereds of HAPPY customers with 250CC atvs
They are weekend rider mostly 35-75 years old.
we donot sell to 14-25 years old its not the right product.
Before you whine about the chinese atv look at your intended use and expectations.
Every week i get sales from referal and even phone calls to tell me how happy they are with the product
because we sold them the RIGHT ATV FOR THEIR USE.
We have Tao Tao parts-Parts@atvguys.com

My son races stock cars and we purchased a 250 Tao Tao about a month ago to use as a pit bike. Already needs a new rim, seat, plastic and plastic for the footrest. (Things are not lasting on this ATV) Where can I purchase an 8" rim (18x9.5-8) and other items?

Thanks.

Hey, I still stand behind my comments on this thread. I'm sure that there are some decent people out there dealing these off-brand quads. But that does not make the off-brands any better quality. As for the intended use comments, they were out of line. The writer tried to make it out as if I do not understand the intended uses for each particular ATV. That's an absurd comment. Yes also, all ATV's will brake. But you can't assure me that the quality and safety of an off-brand ATV is anywhere near a Honda or Yamaha or Suzuki and so on. But I can guarantee (from experience) that they are not even close. The proof is in these forums, and my personal experience. Everyone that is reading, it's up to you what you decide to buy, I'm just giving you my informed opinion. You don't have to believe what I say. I don't expect anyone to. But this is the info that I've uncovered over several years. Peace to all and I hope you all just get to enjoy riding as much as I do. And be sure to research before you buy. It could cost you more money in the long run.

Thanks,

Oh, I will say one thing positive. I'm glad you guys do sell the parts. This has been a problem with off-brand ATV's in the past. So in case someone did not see this, you can buy parts for these at parts-Parts@atvguys.com. I'd rather be helpful than hurtful. All you guys having problems, might want to contact these guys for advice. Seems like they have figured out a lot of the problems you guys are facing.

Thanks!
