The front left tire on my '92 or '93 (can't remember what year) no longer spins when the 4 wheel drive is engaged. It used to, now it don't do squat. is it possible for some one who doesn't know much about four wheelers to fix this or should i take it in. Lacking cash thats why I asking.

Could be a broked shaft, stripped gears or a broken CV joint. Have you taken the wheel off to see what the material condition of the components of the front end is?
take a look and get back to us. I'm sure one of the folks here can help you with more details.

its a polaris 250 w/ On Demand 4-wheel drive if that matters. The front doesn't make any noise, i never heard anything break or grind, like teeth on the gear. since the front right tire still spins i'm wondering if maybe some electrical component is not letting it engage.

I'm not too sharp on Polaris, but first i would check all the obvious u-joints,axles and cv joints. Then i would check the hub splines out by the wheel. Most likely the splines are stripped either on the hub or the axle.Like i said before i'm no polaris expert, as far as parts i would check e-bay. Maybe this will help some. f-500
