I own a kfx 400.  The automatic tranny is definately an advantage however, consider the weight on the machine.  The KFX 700 is no doubt a very powerful machine (I was even considering buying one), however it is very heavy and getting stuck will be a lot tougher than with a lighter bike.  Also, it is wider than most quads and getting into some areas maybe difficult.  I'm not trying to talk you out of it, I just wanted to let you know the factors that I took into consideration when purchasing a new quad.  If it is going to weigh (I think dry weight is 697 lbs.) it should be a four wheel drive.  In my opinion, this quad was designed for dune riding.  Hope this helps!
