Hi I have a 2006 LTR 450 and my biddy has an 2005 LTZ 400. He is a big bs talker and tells me that a LTZ 400 will blow away my stock LTR. He has a pipe, jet, and air filter and thats it performance wise. I have a stock LTR with the baffle out and a HMF Map Key. Broke my pipe.  He also tells me that a LTZ440 will blow away a LTZ 450 with a pipe map key air filter and no lid. I was just wandering if anyone out there has any info to back him up. If  so please let me know and if hes blowing me bs again let me know that too. Thanks for all your help and maybe ill see some of you on the track!

Drag racing, his Z440 might pull the LTR, especially off the start as the LTR doesn't have any hit off the bottom and gets going once it reaches the mid-range. It was the slowest of the 450's modified. it also has small MX wheels/tires which cost it about 2 mph on top.

But if you have turns like on a MX track, then the LTR will break away - if he hasn't dropped any major $$ into the A-arms, axle or shocks.

Rest assure, i am a 225lb guy, i have the cbrm, air lid off, and baffle out of the stock pipe. I ride Glamis often on the ltr. I have ran many ltz400/440 or what these people are wasting their money on the bb kit, yz 450. i have not really had any problems pulling either bikes up the hill. the yz 450 is really the only challenge sometimes (depends on he riders exp.) I am going to drop a tooth on the front sproket (more bottom end) and should be able to launch in 2nd gear.

Ride on.............
