I am a huge yamaha fan but if you want a bike that will handle good and race good at the dunes i'd go with the Honda TRX450r because its balanced alot better than most other bikes. It would still be good at trail riding and jumpin and whatever you wanna do.

The YFZ 450 is a really good race bike but i've havn't heard much about how it does at the dunes. but its also a very well balanced quad extremely good for jumping and racing.

The Raptor 700r is sweet at just about everything but there not that fast and very unstable at the sand dunes. because there heavy and unbalanced. Also when jumping them there alittle wobly or unstable.

As for the suzuki 450 i don't know much about them but i've heard they are really nice for just about everything.

Not to sound like a disgruntled editor who can't believe you haven't read our dune shootout last year or any of the 450 tests (we did 2 this year), I'll give you my opinion too.

All four machines you listed are good, but to handle the variety you're asking, I'd lean towards the two Yamaha's or the TRX. The Honda is decent but needs an HRC kit to really wake up for the dunes or track. The YFZ is great everywhere, but can induce thumb cramping under hard riding. The Raptor 700R is good everywhere, yielding a bit on the track - it is taller than the rest, so turning takes a bit more effort. But for dunes or trail, it's my choice in stock trim. The EFI means no jetting hassles and reverse equals backing up out of a tight spot. It is just as fast as the 450s, but smoother - I just raced one at Pismo and it'll run down 450s. And that's with a >96 dB silencer. The new SE model has adjustable shocks.

I have a Raptor700 and a yfz450 and I think that if you are looking more for something that you can ride on trails and at the dunes I'd go to the Raptor700 for the reason that it has reverse that is a must on trail riding. As well as jumping it its alittle heavier then the others but it has almost the same susspension as the yfz450 olny difference is no reservoir on the front shock. Besides yamaha raptor wil smoke the trx 450r on top end and with alittle work off the line as well. ( can't tell I'm a yamaha guy huh? lol )
