I have a friend looking at a left over 2004 AT Rancher w/ GPS but he is wondering if it is a dog since the latest edition of ATV Rider for the 2005's it finished 5th. Does anyone own or know if the 04's were the same or was the redesign in 05? Thanks

Yes all honda's are dogs. Honda's are slow and ride like a board. They are over priced. There are better quads out there then honda's. Such as Polaris, yamaha, brb quads.

Are you looking at a working ATV or a speedster? The Honda's are good work machines and are reliable, but they won't win any drag races.

O.K. What are you (or your friend) looking at doing w/ the quad? NO-you are not going to win any drag races w/ the Rancher. But, and this is a BIG ~but~, if you are looking for a nimble quad that will go ANYWHERE the big-boy quads will go (just not as fast) the Rancher will MORE than fill your needs. Compared to the latest-n-greatest, the Rancher is tame. Funny thing is, I love riding Ranchers (insert your "Brokeback Mountain" jokes here!). The fact is, Hondas run forever. Ranchers are excellent quads-just don't expect to win any wars aboard a Rancher. Do expect to have fun though.
