This past weekend, Team Emerson organized the placing of a cross where on April 15, 2005, a young rider was killed riding his atv at Windrock. Those participating in the ceremony were members of the Emergency Rescue Squad, Officers of Windrock ATV Club, local law enforcement officers, ATV Rider Magazine, principals of Windrock Campground, principals of ATVPosters.com and members of Team Emerson.

The cross was erected to provide awareness of the seriousness of our sport. ATVS are a lot of fun, but each year thousands are killed needlessly. We need to slow down and always keep safety first!

Special thanks go to one of ATV Rider Magazine Editors, David Wilmot, who shot these excellent photos!

Here is a reply from Scott's Mom, the young rider who was killed at Windrock.

I just wanted to take a minute and thank you for the pictures of the ceremony you sent. This is the hardest thing I've ever had to deal with. The loss of my first born and only son.He was such a special boy and was loved by anyone who knew him. He had a heart of gold and was the biggest jokester around. He was my life, my miracle and I don't know how to carry on without him. He still lived at home because he had a "five year plan".He was very smart about planning his future.I just wish you all could have known him as he touched so many people. He would do anything for anyone. If only some of us could be just a small portion of who he was We would have an awesome world.
Thanks Again,

Lost Mom
