WE WERE IN THE "SLOW" GROUP AND HAD A GREAT TIME. THE TRAILS WERE AWESOME.WE WOULD DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN. IT WAS ENJOYABLE AND EVERYONE LOOKED OUT FOR EACH OTHER. THE TWO GUYS YOU ARE LOOKING FOR FROM PA ARE FROM GETTYSBURG. SO WHEN'S THE NEXT SPONSERED EVENT AT HATFIELD-McCOY??? WE RODE ALL THREE DAYS AND WERE WITH DAVE'S GROUP. THE THIRD DAY WAS THE BEST RUNNING THROUGH THE MUD AND WE REALLY WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE PICS THAT DAVE TOOK OF THAT. (BEING THE ONLY FEMALE)

Steve and Donna, and ALL!
Thanks for making this event possible! This whole thing was a success because all of you chose to take a chance on a first time event, an idea that was never done, comming to a place you've never been. (most of you). and I want to Thank all of you!
I am mailing a disk to Len with the pictures I took, so he can get them posted.
Next years event will be the last weekend in October, so start making vacation plans. I am working on a deal with a resort state park near Pineville to book ALL the rooms and cabins. There are 19 rooms and 14 cabins. We will have the whole place to ourselves. If you want to check it out go to;
http://www.twinfallsresort.com
Stay tuned for details.
I WANT to hear from everybody what they liked, disliked and ways I can inprove this event. One thing will not change, is that this event will always about getting out and RIDE!

PS. Donna I got a KILLER shot of you going over the log! LOL!

Great pics Len! Man, that guy on the Vinson….oh, wait a minute, that’s me!
Hey Donna, spread the word amongst your girlfriends, maybe some will join us next year! And you guys weren’t the slow group, you were the Leisure Tour!
David and I have discussed some changes (aside from lodging) for next year, and I’d like to submit a couple of my ideas for your reading pleasure. David can post his-collective minds post separately.
Now that centralized lodging has been established, I’d like to see a nightly Rider’s Meeting. I know Len was shooting on digital, (and think David was) and Billy had a lap top. I, along with my friend, The Gentle Giant-Jim, had the luxury of seeing the day’s pictures every night-Thanks Len & Billy (no relation to Ben & Jerry)! If we could obtain some kind of projector to share the pics amongst the group-over beers, or your favorite cold beverage(s), I feel the separate groups could get a feel for each other. The meetings would also cut down on some of the confusion in the mornings. I would’ve liked to get to know some of the other group’s riders too. Don’t get me wrong, the bond formed amongst the fast (read: nuts) group (the 4 Musketeers) is something I’ll cherish forever, I just would like to have seen the groups talking more with each other. David has some great ideas about different types of rides, for next year, that will bring people together too.
One of my other ideas is aimed at the Fire dept/Rescue squad. Do any of you remember the donation box at the 1st day’s ride? Well, instead of those guys putting out a box, maybe they could bring a truck (with lower pressure capability-or just a couple of pressure washers) out to offer a quad wash for donations. I’d rather give those guys some money, as opposed to dumping $5 in the coin-op. It would also be nice to have a pressure washer at the trail head(s), as some of us were temp. sidelined due to clogged radiators!
Or maybe they could put on a “Spaghetti Supper”, grill some Cajun chicken or burgers, have a Pancake Breakfast, or all of the above. This would raise $ for them and help us out too, by keeping the group together.
Like I said when I started this thread, I’d like to hear everyone’s ideas. We, as riders, are what this event is about, and we, as riders, are capable of making it better-year after year. Don’t get me wrong, for a 1st year event, it was a great success!

WHAT DO U MEAN A KILLER SHOT?? I AM TAKING IT THAT THE PICTURE TURNED OUT? COOL!!!!!!
WE HAD SUCH A GREAT TIME. REMEMBERING LOOKING DOWN THE CLIFFS WHILE RIDING IS UNIQUE. I AM TOTALLY SCARED OF HEIGHTS BUT I WASN'T SCARED.
WE WILL BE THERE EACH AND EVERY YEAR THIS TAKES PLACE . ITS AN ADVENTURE THAT ANYONE WHO LOVES RIDING WOULD ENJOY.
ONE COMMENT I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE AND WE DID IT THE LAST NIGHT IS THAT. THAT PKG DEAL IS GREAT BUT YOU SHOULD LEAVE OPTIONS OPEN ALSO FOR OTHERS WHO MAY WANT TO STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE. MAKE A PKG DEAL WITH AND WITHOUT A PLACE TO STAY. CUZ WE WOULD LIKE TO GO BACK TO WHERE WE STAYED. THAT HOT TUB WAS "EXTREME" !! ALSO AS WE WERE TALIKNG ABOUT THE THINGS WE CAN DO AND YOU HAD MENTIONED A POKER RUN.. I THINK ALOT OF PEOPLE WOULD LIKE THAT.
THIS RIDER READER RUN IS AN EXPERIENCE I WILL NEVER FORGET AND LOOK FORWARD TO THE NEXT.IT WAS A GREAT TIME FOR ALL.

Steve and Donna and all:
The idea about a whole package deal did not go over to well, and It is na-da gone. The place that two stayed in was real nice and I can understand you wanting to go back there next year. So anybody can be a part of this ride and stay where they want.
I still have not put the final deal on Twin Falls, yet. The person in charge has not gotten back with me. To get the whole place, and a good rate, I'm going to commit to all the rooms (19) and cabins (14). I don't think I'll have a problem filling them, but it will be for 4 nights, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. I've still got to check on the campground.
As far as everything else, I'm thinking it will still be 'pay as you go' the way it worked out this year, and keeping everything a little closer so we don't have to travel so far each day.
Ideas, comments everybody?

Everyone staying in one place and being able to talk about the days ride sounds like a good idea to me. I have a laptop that accepts just about any type of digi cam media and we could look at the days pics also.
when i think back i believe i drove well over 100 miles trying to get to each days ride. plus the place that i stayed at was realy no frills, and i had to rent a remote for the tv every night. you get the idea. but i did meet a bunch of other riders at this place that were not with our group. so it was all good in the end.
Iv'e just got to say once again, that this was a great ride, and i really would not change a thing about it. everyone was real freindly and i want to send out a big THANKS to steve and donna for helping me out with that chain problem on the last day.
Happy trails ![]()

Great picture of you blasting through that mudhole, front tires clawing at the air, Donna! You can see how Jim approached it on his Prairie-whoops!

Steve and Donna,
Be patient about the issue w/ our ride coming out. I work both sides of the printing industry (my family has been in it for 90 yrs.) and I can tell you this: The Dec. issue(s) were on press in Jul/Aug/Sept.. The current issues that are on press are in the neighborhood of the Feb. issue. So, it'll probably be Spring before ATVR gets the issue w/ the ride to you/on the newsstand. It takes quite some time to put a magazine together. Trust me, you'd be amazed at the process. I'm looking forward to seeing the story too, but we've all got a bit of a wait.
As enthusiastic as you guys (sorry Donna) and GALS (how's that?) are, I'd like to get your input on a shirt design(s) that I'm working on for next year. David and I are talking regularly about this, and I've got a couple of concepts, but need some "outside/insider" critics! Interested in giving some input? If you are, send your e-mail addy through the "reply via email-only" and I'll give you a look at what we're working on. You ~folks~ were wanting shirts to comemmerate the ride(s) weren't you?

Just make next years ride go as well as Sunday of this years ride. The guides were great and the ride was a blast. Please keep us posted on the details of the next ride. We already have a group from Dallas wanting to go. It was nice meeting eveyone on the ride, by the third day I felt like we had become friends. I still haven't gotten over how amazing the trails are there. It was well worth the 15hr. drive. We'll be there for the next one, hope to see all of you again.
