I just purchased a used Honda Rancher. When it warms up it starts to leak gas from a hose under the carb. The hose is not connected to anything on the other end. My Honda 250 has the same hose on the bottom of the carb, but never leaks. Any suggestions on how to get the leak stopped?

sounds like the carburetor overflow is working properly. you probably have a stuck float, resulting in the fuel running constantly into the carb until it overflows.
the bowl on the carb fills with gas and the needle valve and float are supposed to turn the fuel off until the bowl gets low enough. if the needle valve or the float are stuck then the fuel keeps running into the bowl until it gets high enough to run out of the overflow on the bottom of the bowl.
yank the carb and clean it well, inspect the needle valve and float. --do not turn the fuel /air mixture screw on the side.-- it is not hard to clean the carb yourself and only takes about 20 minutes. if you need help doing this feel free to p.m. me and i can talk ya through it.
you want to check the float valve for wear, and inspect the float for cracks or holes. if it has cracks or holes then the float fills with fuel and cannot raise itself to turn off the fuel. most likely you just have some gelled gas in there keeping the needle valve from closing all the way or trash in the carb. or even some water.
Keep it RUBBER SIDE DOWN!!

I found a simple solution to the same problem before having to check the float. Be sure the gas cap breather hose does not have a kink in it or is clogged. Removing a kink fixed my problem...
