My friends and family make fun of me for wearing MX riding pants and jersey when I trail ride.  I would rather feel safe than be sorry.  Has anybody else encountered this???  Does anybody else wear the stuff???

yup me and the boys wear it.  don't sweat it.  when they've have broken arms and legs they'll see it different.

besides who wants to pay the hospital a fortune??

i broke an ankle once i didn't wear my boots, wish i had the ankle still hurts, and while it was broken i couldn't ride at all.
Keep it RUBBER SIDE DOWN!!

I've heard all that before as well. Keep that gear on, it's designed to help protect you. Also, why would anyone want to get there nice clothes dirty? Plus, gear looks so much more fashionable. Right?

Can anyone tell me about a boot that is not so weighted but still does the job?
